Research Project Presented at the 6th Workshop on Information Systems Design and Economic Behavior (ISDEB)

A recent research project of Prof. Dr. Jens Förderer and Tobias Kircher was presented at the 6th Workshop on Information Systems Design and Economic Behavior (ISDEB), held from March 15-17 2021. The project, titled “Does Consumer Privacy Harm Innovation? Evidence from Google’s Enforcement of COPPA in Android’s Market for Kids-Games” investigates an important question faced by platform companies: what are the consequences of stricter privacy (i.e., restricted ability to collect consumer data for advertising) for innovation in their ecosystem. So far, little is known about the actual consequences of privacy on innovation. The paper is currently being finalized and will shortly appear as a working paper on this website. ISDEB is one of the premier academic forums for the discussion of cutting-edge information systems research questions related to business and economic outcomes in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
